Dental Department

Our dental department provides dental care facilities and oral hygiene teaching to customers. Many poor patients from Tansen and the surrounding areas come in for remedial treatment - often we see tooth decay, abcesses and jaw fractures after falls from trees. We also train rural health care workers in basic techniques and good oral hygiene methods.

One of the challenges we face is the balance of trying to further enhance the quality of care we give, by using better equipment and materials, with our desire to try to keep costs down for patients - many of whom are quite poor. Thankfully, donations from overseas have helped us tremendously with this, enabling us to have equipment that we would otherwise be unable to afford.
